Registered car wash operators will comply with all statutory / legal regulations. This includes ensuring they have the consent to trade (e.g. Planning Permission).

To be a member of the Scheme, operators will be expected to demonstrate that each of their sites has Planning Permission.

Planning permission

  • That prior to commencement of trading (or within 6 months of date of registration) the Operator has obtained, or is in the process of obtaining, Local Authority planning consent for the car wash to trade (and for any buildings, any signage/advertisement etc. For England & Wales , for  Scotland and for  Northern Ireland.
  • That they have an authorised connection to the water supply (see Protect the Environment).
  • They have an authorised connection to other facilities such as electricity
  • The appropriate Local Authority for each of the operators should be contacted to ensure that the site fully meets with  local regulations.
